Nadatarangini is delighted to announce that the Annual Music Festival commemorating Sri Purandaradasa and Sri Thyagaraja will be held on Sunday, May 26th and Monday, May 27th (Memorial Day Weekend) at the SSVT Auditorium. Festivities will commence at 8.00 AM on Sunday, May 26th and conclude on Monday, May 27th. As always Sri Rama Puja, Pancharathna Kritis, Individual singing, Musical Presentations and Concerts will lace the occasion.
Nadatarangini is a registered non-profit cultural organization dedicated to the propagation of Classical Music in the U.S.A. The basic purpose is to nourish, encourage, and promote local artists and visiting artists from India.
Nadatarangini had its origins at Columbus, Ohio over 25 years ago. Now it has its roots both in the Washington Metropolitan area and in Ohio. Nadatarangini, in addition to its annual "Purandara Dasa and Thyagaraja Music Festival”, continues to organize several music programs. Some of these programs were "Navarathna Maalika", "An Evening with Kalyani", "Papanasam Sivan's Birth Centenary", "Rachana Manjari", “Vachanamrutha Dhaare", "NadaSourabha" just to name a few. It has been extremely satisfying and encouraging to see that over 200 people, young and old, regularly perform during the Annual Music Festival. We hope this would inspire them to not only improve and enhance their musical talents but would also aid in motivating others to learn Classical Music in the coming years. We thank all our patrons, donors, volunteers and advertisers who have helped us during these years. We also thank the Sri Siva Vishnu Temple Executive Committee and the Kaveri Executive Committee for their continued support. All our programs have been free and are supported by the generous contributions and volunteer assistance from the public. We look forward to their continued support in the future. | Events
