Vasuda Kesav

Carnatic vocalist Vasuda was trained in the Gurukula system by her aunt H. S. Mahalakshmi, a renowned musician, whose lineage belonged to Tiger Varadachariar and Harikeshanallur Muthaiah Bhagavathar. Vasuda inherited a rich tradition from her grand father Hemmige Srirangachar, who was a court musician during Kingship of H H Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV, the Maharaja of Mysore. A post graduate in music from Mysore University and a gold medalist, Vasuda is acclaimed for her performing and teaching skills. She has been performing for over 22 years in many leading sabhas and organizations like the prestigious Madras Music Academy, Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, Narada Gana Sabha, Mylapore Fine Arts, The Indian Fine Arts Society, Bharat Kalachar, Tyagabrahma Gana Sabha, The Bangalore Gayana Samaja, Karnataka Ganakala Parishat, and scores of other reputed organizations all over India.

 Her concerts have been appreciated by the professional media, discerning music lovers and  critics alike. Vasuda is now under the tutelage of veteran musician Sangeetha Kalacharya,  Padma Bhushan  Sri P.S.Narayanaswami of Chennai.

An ‘A’ grade artist at All India Radio and Doordarshan, Vasuda is a recipient of many awards and titles conferred by esteemed music organizations. Many  audio recordings of Vasuda’s have been released under the banner of  renowned music companies.
